Why flushing matters

MagSert® works on water as it flows through it. On a sink or faucet the water moves whenever you run the tap. A toilet holds still water, so flush regularly to bring freshly conditioned water into the bowl — and flush twice right after you install it.

Toilet tip: flush twice per use — the first flush fills the tank with conditioned water, the second moves that water into the bowl. For best results, start with a clean toilet.

The MagSert® T-640-B installs inline on a standard 3/8-inch compression toilet-supply connection and conditions water as it flows toward the toilet. It is designed to help reduce the tendency of mineral deposits to adhere and harden on porcelain.

With regular use, MagSert® may help reduce visible mineral scale, staining, and the stubborn buildup that can contribute to rings inside the toilet bowl. Any deposits that still form may be softer and easier to wipe away.

Works with moving water

MagSert® conditions water as it flows through the unit. Because water remains standing in the toilet tank and bowl between uses, flush the toilet several times after installation to cycle freshly conditioned water through the fixture.

Regularly used toilets receive conditioned water more frequently. Results vary depending on water chemistry, mineral concentration, existing buildup, and how often the toilet is flushed.

For the clearest comparison, clean the toilet bowl before installing MagSert® and observe the results over the following weeks.

What it does—and what it doesn't

The MagSert® Toilet conditions water as it flows through the unit, helping reduce visible mineral buildup and making deposits easier to manage.

It does not soften the water, remove minerals, or filter out contaminants or total dissolved solids. The minerals remain in the water; MagSert® is designed to help change how mineral deposits form and adhere to surfaces.

No salt. No electricity. No replacement filters.

Where you can use it

The MagSert® T-640-B is designed for toilets with a compatible standard 3/8-inch compression water-supply connection.

Only one MagSert® unit is needed per toilet. Sold individually.

Toilet installation

The MagSert® T-640-B installs between the toilet shut-off valve and the existing toilet supply line.

  1. Turn off the water at the shut-off valve coming from the wall.
  2. Place a small towel beneath the valve to catch any remaining water.
  3. Flush the toilet to relieve pressure in the supply line and allow the tank to drain.
  4. Using an adjustable wrench, disconnect the toilet supply line from the shut-off valve.
  5. Connect the existing toilet supply line to the MagSert® T-640-B and lightly tighten the fitting.
  6. Connect the MagSert® hose to the toilet shut-off valve and lightly tighten the fitting. A second wrench may be helpful for holding the opposite end steady while tightening.
  7. Slowly turn the shut-off valve back on and allow the toilet tank to refill.
  8. Carefully check all connections for leaks.
  9. Flush the toilet several times to cycle freshly conditioned water into the tank and bowl.

Do not overtighten the connections. If a connection leaks, turn off the water and carefully retighten it. Do not continue using the unit until all connections are secure and leak-free.
